As a Pastor, I refrain from endorsing any political candidates in the Church setting.  However, occasionally a Church member asks me point blank if I can vote for “Candidate X.”  If I’ve done my homework on the politician, I give my reasons for or against supporting said individual.  If a Church member asks if I can support Hillary Clinton’s Presidential aspirations, I can unequivocally respond,

“Not in this lifetime.”

No, I’m not a misogynist…I just don’t want our Country to be mired down in another four years of the Obama Administration.  In a nutshell, here’s why I cannot vote for Hillary Clinton.  I hate the radical departure from holiness that our Country continues to take, all while people stand by and cheer our “Progress.”  God loathes homosexuality (not the homosexual) and yet many in America embrace homosexual marriage.  Is God pleased?  Ask Sodom and Gomorrah….

We slaughter over one million babies per year in the womb.  The number’s staggering.  Are Christians supposed to remain mum about this tragic court approved holocaust?  Is God pleased if we just look the other way?  Is God pro-choice?  When a candidate idolizes Margaret Sanger and is a darling of Emily’s List, Conservatives need to run, not walk, in the other direction.

And now we find Hillary embroiled in another scandal.  While serving as Secretary of State she admittedly utilized a personal email account and a “home brew” server to conduct all of her governmental business.  Now we learn that after the tragic mishandling of Benghazi, she deleted 30,000 emails.  The party that boasts of transparency, spends more time covering their tracks than creating policies bettering America.  Why elect another politician to the highest office in the land with a known reputation of lies and deceit?

I do not hate the current President or Hillary Clinton, or anyone else for that matter.  However, I despise policies and “Progress” pushing us ever closer to the precipice of the judging Hand of God.

I also question how a Christian can, in good conscience, vote for leaders who espouse values contrary to the Bible.  If we vote for leaders who support abortion on demand, then we essentially hold the surgical knife that strips life from the womb.  If we vote for leaders who support and champion gay marriage, we in effect officiate at their ceremonies.  If we vote for leaders who constantly craft lies to cover government overreach, scandals and failed policies, who’s responsible for seating the “Pinocchio” in office?  God holds us accountable for what we do behind the voting booth curtain.

Are Conservatives perfect?  No way!  Unfortunately, I think we find ourselves at every voting cycle casting ballots for the lesser of two evils.  In the next few months, may God raise up a man or woman who holds fast to the promises of our Constitution and most importantly to the principles taught in the Book of books…God’s Holy Word.

Sadly, a significant portion of our Country notices the downward spiral of our moral condition but shrug their shoulders and ask,

“What difference does it make?”

To those apathetic to the spiritual condition of America, we cannot expect God’s blessing if we kowtow to Hollywood’s mores and Washington’s track record of lies and deceit.  If we love America, we must bitterly cling to the Bible and our Constitutional and God given rights.  Let’s not forget:

“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord…” Psalm 33:12
